“Winning The Battle Against Erosion”
2 Peter 3:9-18
Sermon Notes 11/05/2023
Erosion caused by selfishness, sinfulness, sickness and suffering will continue until the day of the Lord.
To win the battle against this erosion, followers of Jesus…
- need to value patience and perseverance over power and prestige (vs 9).
- need to keep in the forefront of their mind the truth that the day of the Lord is coming like a thief and the Lord will renovate through His righteous wrath and renew the earth (vs 10).
- need to pursue holiness and godliness while waiting for the new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells (11-13)
- need to know the Word of God so that we do not get carried away with false teachings and lose our own stability (14-17).
- need to continuously grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ(Vs 18).
Is your stability and faith being eroded by selfishness, sinfulness, sickness and suffering or are you finding your stability and strength through a faith that is set in Christ?
Jesus Christ is an anchor that cannot be moved.
